Full-Stack Developer (WordPress & AI)

Your main goal at Profound

As a Full-Stack Developer, your number one goal is to be the developer we can point at anything: a client's WordPress issue in the morning, an LLM-powered tool in the afternoon. You work directly with our tech lead, take ownership of work end-to-end, and help shape how we build.

Here are some of your main responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and support custom WordPress projects: plugins, themes, WooCommerce, page builders, Advanced Custom Fields and API integrations
• Fix bugs, add features and improve existing codebases, including legacy ones
• Build and experiment with LLM-based tools and agents (API integrations, tool calling, automation) for internal use and client projects
• Take ownership of client work from brief to delivery with minimal handholding, and keep the tech lead informed with clear, concise updates
• Help introduce and document new development approaches, tooling and standards across the team

What you already bring to the table

• Minimum 3 years of working experience in the web development industry
• Professional proficiency in English (spoken and written)
• Solid understanding of WordPress standards, database structure, themes, plugins and hooks
• Demonstrable experience with PHP, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and MySQL
• Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic or similar) or agent frameworks
• A considered approach to AI-assisted coding: you use it heavily, but you review, understand and can defend every line you ship
• Genuine curiosity about where AI development is heading and how it changes the way we build
• Comfortable switching between technologies, task complexity, and projects without losing momentum
• Discipline concerning delivery dates, stylistic appreciation of what makes code good and readable, and a committed attitude about documentation, user stories, issue tracking, and timesheets are all very important skills for our developers to have
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to apply them with both team members and clients
• Demonstrated experience in managing hosting
• Team player mentality while also having the capacity to work independently
• Python (scripting or backend), React and modern TypeScript frameworks are a big plus
• And importantly you must always be ready to have fun.
