Complete rebranding and brand conversion of the airport.
Challenge
Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP), the company managing Curaçao’s international airport, found that their brand—focused on the abbreviation CAP—did not effectively represent the destination Curaçao. With a strategic growth plan in place for the next five years, aiming to transform the airport into a leading regional hub, a rebranding effort was essential to align with this vision and strengthen its connection to the island.
Strategy
To reflect Curaçao’s identity more closely and align with international destination naming conventions, the abbreviation “CUR” was chosen. A fresh, modern logo was developed in collaboration with key stakeholders and test panels. This process included careful selection of colors and branding elements, resulting in a cohesive new corporate identity that supports the airport’s vision for growth.
Execution
Once the new corporate identity was established, all airport assets carrying the logo, including signage, stationery, uniforms, and public announcements, were updated to reflect the new branding. Profound not only created the airport’s new website but also became their marketing partner. We have supported CAP in various marketing campaigns aimed at promoting Curaçao as a destination, helping to align the airport’s presence with the island’s tourism appeal.
Results
The new corporate identity and marketing initiatives were instrumental in driving CAP’s strategic direction forward, enhancing its visibility and connection to Curaçao. The airport’s efforts led to significant recognition, with Curaçao International Airport being named the 4th Best Airport in Central America and the Caribbean for 2024. This achievement marks a key milestone in their growth as a premier regional hub.
