Solution Architect

As a Solution Architect, your number 1 goal is to be an expert in translating business requirements into technical solutions that bring high value to customers while adhering to architectural principles. You enjoy complex projects, think outside the box, and build trust and rapport with our clients with your deep knowledge. When it comes to systems/data integration and the processes involved, you are the go-to person we can consult.

At Profound, we work agile and follow the Scrum methodology in our software delivery projects. In Scrum, our Solution Architect assumes the role of a Business/IT analyst and is expected to take the lead in solution design. This means that you should always seek a balance between business value and technical implications, including cost. Running refinement meetings, writing user stories, researching and presenting technical options, creating solution designs, and verifying implementation against acceptance criteria are all ways to accomplish this in Scrum. You can do many of these tasks on your own and, when necessary, seek input from developers. You are outspoken, can complete tasks independently, and know when to collect input from developers. This position requires self-motivation to learn new techniques and business processes, as well as the ability to confidently convince stakeholders why we make certain technical or business choices.

Are you ready to Make it Happen? Here’s what you will do: Among your main responsibilities

• Lead refinements in agile teams and make sure user stories are ready for a sprint.
• Design solutions ranging from new workflows to more technical diagrams.
• Support the Product Owner in prioritizing the backlog based on (high) business value and (low effort) smart solutions, also known as “low hanging fruits.”
• Work with developers and the business on a streamlined release management process.
• Contribute to strategic sessions and overall roadmaps of projects.
• Measure the effectiveness and success of implementations.
• Make tactical decisions to improve the product while balancing customer satisfaction and stakeholder buy-in.
• Mentor teammates and support their growth/performance.

What you already bring to the table Basic qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master's degree in information technology, business information management, software engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development as an engineer or IT consultant.
• Previous experience in agile methodologies like Scrum, SAFe, XP, or Kanban.
• Experience in system integration using APIs, Web Services, and hands-on in writing JSON and XML.
• Experience with (open source) relational databases like Postgres, MySQL, and writing SQL queries to support analysis.
• Understanding of a coding language like Javascript, C++, Java.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
